1. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account details: name, email address and (optionally) mobile number. Passwords are stored only in encrypted (hashed) form.
Study profile: class, board, medium, and optionally your school and state.
Learning activity: test attempts, answers, scores, results, practice progress, bookmarks and Doubt Board posts.
AI Tutor questions: the questions you type into the AI Tutor.
Google sign-in (optional): your name, email, profile photo and Google account ID, received from Google when you choose “Continue with Google”.

Collected automatically

Cookies and similar storage: to keep you logged in, remember preferences and protect forms from abuse.
Technical data: browser or device type, IP address and pages visited, used for security and to improve the service.
Exam integrity events: during a timed exam, events like leaving the exam screen, to keep tests fair.
Notification token: only if you allow notifications.

We do not access your contacts, photos, location, camera or microphone.

2. How we use your information

Create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
Show content for your class and board; run tests; calculate scores, results and class rankings.
Answer AI Tutor questions and show Doubt Board discussions.
Send one-time login codes (OTP), important account emails and, if you allowed them, study notifications.
Process payments for paid plans.
Prevent cheating, abuse and fraud, and improve the service.

3. Advertising on the website

Free users of examisthan.com may see ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings. Premium members do not see ads, and the Android app shows no ads.

We share only what is needed with providers that help us run Examisthan:

On the Doubt Board other users see only your first name. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

5. Children

Examisthan is made for school students. If you are under 18, please use Examisthan with a parent’s or guardian’s knowledge and consent. We collect only what learning features need and do not use children’s data for any other purpose. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time to review or delete their child’s information.

6. Security and retention

All data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. We keep your information while your account is active. After you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep by law (for example payment invoices).

7. Delete your account and data

Email support@examisthan.com from the email address registered with your account.
Use the subject “Delete my Examisthan account”.
We confirm and delete your account, profile, test history, Doubt Board posts, bookmarks and notification tokens within 30 days.

You can also ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be corrected, at the same address.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date and, for important changes, tell you on the website, in the app or by email.
